Academic Merit Scholarship

Under this scheme of the Master’s Academic Scholarship at UOWD, the coverage of 15% to 25% of tuition fees each semester will be offered. It must be noted that the scholarship will not cover excursions, textbooks, living expenditures, accommodation, or any other costs involved in carrying out the studies with the university.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria of the Master’s Academic Scholarship at UOWD

All nationalities are eligible.
The applications are open to entry-level new students only who will take full-time study.
Candidates must have obtained the minimum grades as listed on the curriculum table (mentioned in the official announcement, read the table carefully).
Applicants are required to meet the entire academic and admission criteria to be admitted to the University of Wollongong in Dubai and must be attending to enroll in the related session for which they have applied.

Value of the Scholarship

The value of the University of Wollongong Masters Scholarships (academic merit scholarship) carries two categories which are available to master’s students.

25% scholarship
15% scholarship

It must be noted that the number of scholarships conferred within each category is limited. Thus, the students have to meet the minimum selection criteria for the related category for their application to be taken into consideration.

Criteria to Retain the Scholarship

It must be noted that the scholarships conferred to successful students will be reviewed annually at the start of the Autumn trimester (unless otherwise stated). If you want to retain your scholarship, you need to meet the following criteria:

Maintaining a WAM of ≥65 (for both 25% and 15% scholarship)
Enrolling in at least 2 subjects in Autumn, Winter, and Spring (this is for students who are on a UOWD-sponsored visa only)
Receiving no ‘fail’ (F or TF) grades

Adam Gilchrist Sports Award

The award has been named after the ex-Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist, who is the ambassador of the University of Wollongong. The award is actually an annual title that is conferred to two candidates at either bachelor’s or master’s level in the autumn semester (that starts in September).

Under this scholarship scheme, the recipients are offered a 50% bursary on their tuition fees for the whole duration of their studies (it is subject to maintaining sporting participation, specified academic standards, and enrolment criteria). Textbooks, accommodation, excursions, living costs, or any other costs spent on study are not involved in the scholarship. Sports scholarships are provided to successful students in the autumn trimester and any balance thereof in spring and summer.
