#YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship

This is another offer under University of Idaho financial aid for students. The university is pleased to offer two annual renewable scholarships for the duration of (up to) four years of study worth 50% of tuition at the time of initial matriculation. This scholarship opportunity is open to first year international students who are admitted for undergraduate degree (programs) seeking study at the university. These scholarships could not be combined with Invitation to Idaho scholarships.

Requirements for University of Idaho Scholarships (#YouAreWelcomeHere)

Those, who are succeeded, would be devoted to furthering the message of #YouAreWelcomeHere by connecting (bridging) intercultural divides. The applicants are required to:

Submit a 500 to 1000 words written essay, or
Submit a 2 to 5 minutes video about the leadership skills they possess and ideas for using those skills to progress intercultural learning and understanding at the university.

Eligibility Criteria for This Opportunity

The applicants need to be the first-year international student at the University of Idaho.
They are attending or have graduated from a secondary school outside America.
They showcase their interest and personal initiative in those activities revolving around intercultural exchange and learning.
The applicants need to complete the scholarship application plus they are required to write an essay of 500 to 1000 words, or they can make a video of 2 to 5 minutes duration describing their aspirations for conducting projects, employment, research or any other experiencing which will progress intercultural learning.

Maintenance of the Scholarship

This opportunity can be renewed for up to 4 years (for Fall and Spring sessions/semester only).
The students need to take part in at least 10 hours per semester of cultural sharing and engagement with the local community via an internship with the international programs’ office.

They should also enroll and then successfully complete at least 12 credits (there are exceptions which might be granted) for Fall and Spring sessions/semesters.
