Part-Time: You may study any part-time UCD undergraduate degree programs, including:

UCD Access: It is a one-year part-time program that prepares students for university and provides them with an entry route to a range of undergraduate programs.

UCD Open Learning Pathway Program: This program is a part-time opportunity that lets the students to study at their own pace to accumulate 30 credits towards an NFQ Level 7 Certificate in Open Learning that is useful for progressing to one of 13 UCD undergraduate degrees.

Eligibility Criteria for Think Again Scholarship

If you like to be considered for the UCD scholarships (Think Again Scholarship), you need to meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the opportunity.

Female candidates aged 23 years or over can apply for this opportunity.
They have to be residing in a household with a combined income of €25,000 per year or less, where the reckonable household income consists of a Department of Social Protection payment or its equivalent from a European Union member state.
The applicant is a first-time entrant to higher education at NFQ Level 6 or above, or, an entrant who has earlier attended but not completed a course at NFQ Level 6 or above and has availed a three-year break in study since leaving that course, or an entrant who has obtained a NFQ Level 6 or above diploma as part of a progression pathway to a University College Dublin undergraduate degree.
The applicant must have been a resident in the Irish State for 3 of the last 5 years.

In order to be considered for the University College Dublin Think Again Scholarship and if you want to apply for a part-time course, you have to be:

A female who is aged 23 years or over.
The applicant must be residing in a household with a combined reckonable income of €25,000 per year or less.
The applicant has to be in receipt of a longer-term social protection payment or its equivalent from a European Union Member State.
As far the education matter is concerned, the applicant should be a first-time entrant to higher education at NFQ Level 6 or above, or an entrant who has earlier attended but not attained a course at NFQ Level 6 or above and has obtained a three-year break in study since leaving that course, or an entrant who has obtained a NFQ Level 6 or above diploma as part of a progression pathway to a University College Dublin undergraduate degree.
As far as nationality is concerned, the applicant needs to have an Irish, EEA, EU, UK or Swiss nationality or have a specific immigration status. The nationality has to be supported by documentation that could consist of a passport or your full civil birth certificate, an original government issued photo identification document, or copy of applicant’s public services card. Or leave to remain permission from the Department of Justice has to be supported by a letter issued from the International Protection Office.
The applicant has to be a resident in the EU, Irish State, EEA, UK or Swiss Federation for 3 of the last 5 years. It is to be noted that the residency status has to be supported by documentation that could consist of GP letters, Social Protection Statements, letters from schools, applicant’s P60 for years up to 2018 or Employment Detail Summary from 2019 onwards.

Financial Benefits

Student for undergraduate full-time degree could get up to €14,000 per student per year of study.

Students for the one-year part-time university access course could get €1,000 per student.

Other part-time students might obtain €1,000 per student per year of their study.

Note: The allowance will be provided to students for the coverage of their basis cost of living that includes food, rent, utilities, phone/internet, clothes, medical, travel, books. Recipients of Think Again Scholarship will receive following allowance.

Full-time students will be paid in regular instalments over the academic year.

Part-time students will be provided with the allowance as pro-rata depending on how many modules they take.

Deadline for Applications

If you are a full-time student, the deadline has passed, as it was 19^th July 2023. But for the part-time students, applications are still open. You may apply by 31^st August 2023 for the academic year 2023-2024.
