- Make sure that a departmental or institutional link exists between the proposed university in the UK and your home university. This link needs to be greater than simply a collaboration between individuals. Financial Benefits Under the Commonwealth Split-Site PhD Scholarships
Successful students will receive fully funded support. Each scholarship offered to successful students will provide:
- Approved air tickets (airfare) will be offered from the recipient’s home country to the United Kingdom and return at the end of the scholarship (it should be noted that dependents’ travel costs will not be reimbursed, nor the expenses of journeys made before the award is confirmed).
- Scholars (scholarship recipients) will not be responsible for paying the tuition fees at the approved UK university since the full fees will be covered by the agreement signed between the CSC and the UK university.
- The stipend (living allowance) will be paid at the rate of £1,378 per month, or £1,690 per month for students at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at present levels).
- Where applicable, students will be provided with a warm clothing allowance.
- Study travel grants will be offered towards the cost of study-relevant travel overseas or within the United Kingdom.
- If the scholarship recipient is divorced, widowed, or single parent, a child allowance amounting to £590 per month for the first child and £146 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16 will be offered, provided that the kids are residing with the scholars (scholarship recipients) at the same address in the United Kingdom.
