Duties and Responsibilities Under the British Council Internship Program

The opportunity of this internship program will be under the overall guidance of the Senior Financial Accountant (SFA). The assigned duties will consist of but will not be limited to:

Providing support to AP and AR accountant
Finance administrative support
Preparing financial documents and journal entries for accuracy
Supporting in filling monthly tax returns with relevant authorities of tax
Doing other tasks that might be assigned by the SFA

Learning and Development Opportunities Under the British Council Internship

The intern will get the opportunity to receive hands-on accounting experience and learn the different aspects of the accounting function in a multinational organization.
The intern will develop a completely new set of cross-disciplinary expertise for their future career.
The successful intern will become familiar with the working scenario of an international organization and in a multi-cultural ambiance (environment).
The intern will get an introduction and experience of working with SAP.

Duration and Location of the Internship Program

The British Council Internship Program will have a one-year duration. It will be done in Lagos, Nigeria.

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree
Conversant with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Learning passion
Must have interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
When handling sensitive financial information, the intern will be able to be discreet
Must have the ability to work collaboratively and independently
The applicant will be detail-oriented
Must possess analytical skills
Must have experience in the development of charts in Excel and statistics
The applicant should possess a maximum of three years post-NYSC in any field of study
The applicant must have existing rights to reside and work in Nigeria
Must be proficient in English (written and spoken)
