Therefore, the young changemakers, who are in the age brackets of 21 to 29, from all parts of the world are invited to apply for a brilliant chance to participate in an unforgettable week of networking, skills development, and capacity building. Thus, together with a diverse group of some of the world’s most inspirational youth leaders, you as a participant will embark on a journey of lifetime, collaboration, growth, and action.

Besides, the participants of this Global Youth Summit 2024 will also witness a novel opportunity to make their connections with more than 1300 changemakers in Global Changemakers’ international network and become eligible as well for grant funding to bring their impactful projects to life.

About Global Changemakers

It is a renowned international youth organization with a strong mission of supporting youth to create positive change towards just, fair, and sustainable communities. This is done through capacity building, skills development, grants, and mentoring.

According to its website, Global Changemakers so far has trained more than 50,000 young people from more than 190 countries and provided grants to 500 youth-led projects in partnership with organizations like the Shawn Mendes Foundation. It has organized four virtual summits, 12 fully funded global youth summits, and 4 regional summits in Asia, Latin America, and Europe in addition to various other skill-building events around the world.

Eligibility Criteria for the Global Youth Summit 2024 in South Africa

If you are a youngster aged 21 to 29 and residing in any part of the world, you are invited to apply for this global summit for youth. If you are 20 but will turn 21 in 2024 at the time of the summit meaning that if you were born before 21^st October 2003, you are eligible to apply. If you are 29 years old and will be 29 years old during the summit meaning that if you were born after 25^th October 1994, you are eligible to apply.
All nationalities are welcome.
A working knowledge of English is required. Your English proficiency will be tested through your application video and through an interview for those who make it to the 3^rd round of selection.

Financial Coverage for Global Youth Summit 2024 Cape Town

As mentioned earlier this is a fully funded summit. If you are successful, you will be offered a fully funded opportunity with the below-mentioned coverage.

In this summit, the changemakers who are chosen from outside South Africa will get the coverage of the flight to and from their country’s main airport, transport within South Africa plus accommodation and food for the entire duration of the summit. For changemakers who are already in South Africa and they are selected, they will get their coverage for the transport to the summit venue coupled with other expenses.

If you are selected and you require a visa to enter South Africa, you will need to arrange and pay for your visa at your own expense while Global Changemakers will provide you with the supporting invitation documents. You will also have to pay the cost to get to your country’s main airport. Besides, all participants are required to provide proof of health and accident insurance (this can be in the form of travel insurance) with coverage in South Africa for the entire duration of the summit.

Deadline to Submit the Applications

The application period is now open and will last till 26th May 2024. It is advised to apply as early as possible.

You are required to pay the application fee which is $30
You should submit the written application form
